Harish Chandra Consul is a Canadian businessman, entrepreneur & investor. He is the Founder & CEO of Ocgrow Group, which is a diversified group of companies across multiple sectors globally. Early Life
Harish Consul was born on November 15, 1965, in Tripoli, Libya, and is the son of Shakuntla & Prem Consul, originally from Uttar Pradesh in India. He moved to Calgary, Alberta at a very early young age where he grew up in Canada. He has always been interested in building and investing at a very young age. He started learning about real estate, and various types of investments early as a teenager, bought his first property at the age of 15, and has continued growing ever since. Consul grew up in Calgary, Alberta, & graduated from the University of Calgary in Civil Engineering.

Business Career
Consul graduated from the University of Calgary, as the youngest engineering graduate at only 20 years of age in Civil Engineering & was fortunate to receive several job offers. He accepted with Ellis-Don & quickly promoted to Vice President, of Western Canada with many projects built ahead of schedule & under budget with his leadership. He then received an executive offer from Kingswood Capital, which led him to move to Vancouver in 1989. In the early 1990’s he left to start his own company, Pacific Sun Properties, a real estate developer. In addition, he also founded Pacific Century Group Ventures in Vancouver, which was the start of his path in the venture capital industry.
Consul successfully founded and grew several technology companies, which led to the growth of his private investment fund, and then became an early investor in several high-tech companies during the internet growth years of the mid to late 1990s period. He has been an entrepreneur his entire career to date, building, investing, and scaling high-growth companies around the globe.
In 2005, Consul decided to move back to Calgary & founded Ocgrow Group, which has two major divisions, real estate and venture capital. Ocgrow Ventures is widely recognized as one of Canada’s leading private venture capital funds, with a global tech focus. Ocgrow Ventures has been an early VC fund investor in many companies, including Amazon, Shopify, Viome, Fizz, Garuda, Coupang, and many more. Consul is a highly acclaimed keynote speaker at many investment and tech conferences around the globe, from London, Abu Dhabi, New Delhi, etc. Consul is known as an innovator, thought leader & creator, widely recognized for this inspiring leadership and investment knowledge. Consul owns Ocgrow Group, which is one of Canada’s largest fully integrated real estate development companies. Ocgrow Group is a major owner, developer and manager, of commercial real estate across western Canada. Ocgrow’s real estate portfolio includes both residential & commercial holdings ranging from existing income properties across western Canada, to an active development portfolio ranging from various multi-family condo projects to major retail & commercial shopping centers.
Ocgrow’s real estate group is leading several large-scale mixed-use developments across Canada, including the current Greystone[6] community as the largest developer in Cochrane, Alberta. Ocgrow is building nearly 500,000 sf of new retail/commercial space with several multi-family projects including Vertos[7] at Greystone.
Personal Life
Consul has lived in both Calgary and Vancouver and now resides full time in Calgary, Alberta. He has two sons, Rakesh and Mohan. Consul loves the outdoors and has always been a very active athlete. He plays competitive tennis, a certified Tennis Canada coach, and is an active runner and triathlete. He’s also very passionate about health and longevity.
