Matan Shavit (born July 16, 1990) is an Israeli theater and television actor. Since 2015 he has been one of the actors of the National Theater Habima.
Matan Shavit was born and raised in Tel Aviv-Yafo. At the same time as his high school studies, he stood out in the Tel Aviv Boy Scouts troupe, where he starred in two original musicals by the director, writer and composer Yaron Kafkafi. In 2007, he won the award for the outstanding youth actor at the Autumn Theater Festival sponsored by the Chamber Theater, for his role in the musical "Doesn't Control It".
In 2011, after his military service, he began his acting studies at Yoram Levinstein's acting studio, where he won the America-Israel Cultural Foundation Award in 2013. In 2022, he graduated with a bachelor's degree in directing and teaching theater at the Kibbutzim Seminary.
Immediately after graduating from the acting school in 2014, he joined the "Ensemble of Times" of the Chamber Theater under the direction and guidance of Rana Yerushalmi. In 2014 he played in the play "The Kite Chaser" at the Gesher Theater directed by Noam Shmuel, in the role of Amir. In 2015 he played the role of Peter Pan in "Peter Pan" in a show theater. In Hanukkah 2016 he played in the play "The Little Mermaid" produced by Maor Maimon in the role of the prince, alongside Adi Himmelbloy. In 2017, he acted in the play "Solem Ya'akov" at the Israeli Theater of the Hour - a play describing the life story of the actor and comedian Ya'akov Cohen. In the same year he played in the play "The Wizard of Oz" in the production of the Israeli Theater of the Hour, in the role of the Tin Man. In 2018, he played in the play "Mol Hallimi" at the Israeli Ha'sha Theater, in the role of Shawn. The play won the title of show of the year at the stage award for children and youth.
In January 2020, he was cast in the lead role in the play "Dreams of Others" - an original musical play based on the songs of Idan Raichel, produced by the Israeli Ha'asa Theater.

In 2015 he joined the troupe of stage theater actors with the musical "Evita". Since then he has taken part in many plays from the theater repertoire, among them:

"My Mika" - an original musical play to the tunes of Yair Rosenblum, directed by Moshe Kepten, in the lead role (Ari Kuperman) (2018).
"The Robot" - an original Israeli play by Roni Sinai and Uzi Weil directed by Roi Segev, in the role of Shir Paz (2019).
"There's a doctor in the hall" - comedy by Ray Cooney. Co-production of the Bhima Theater with the Haifa Theater directed by Moshe Naor, in the role of Dr. Connolly (2019).
"Mama Mia" directed by Moshe Kepten, in the role of Sky (2020).
"Sfardi Orchard" a remake from 2021 directed by Tsadi Sarfati, in the role of Makhlouf.
"Talk about their whereabouts" The Bhima Theater in collaboration with HOT VOD A play by Nava Semal directed by Aya Kaplan, in the role of Nissan Boim (2021).
"Kaban" by Nevo Ziv, directed by Dafna Zilberg, in the role of Bar Harush (2021).
"Hamlet" by William Shakespeare directed by Maor Zagori, in the role of Ophelia (2021).
"Romeo and Juliet" by William Shakespeare accompanied by Prokofiev's compositions, a collaboration between the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra under the direction of Lahav Shani and the National Theater Hima, where he played the role of Nevolio (2021).
"The Doctor" - drama by Robert Eyck directed by Miri Lazar, in the role of Junior (2022).
"Treat my heart" - a play by Hanoch Levin directed by Miri Lazar, in the role of Barbaspascua (2022).
"Leopold-Stadt" - a play by Tom Stoppard directed by Ilan Ronen, in the role of Leo (2023).
"Lila Ir" - a musical documentary show directed by Amit Reiss and Gamma Fried, in his own role (2023).
"Hamini Yom Yevo" is a play inspired by the life story of the singer Yaffe Yarkoni, directed by Elder Groysman, in the role of Natan Peleg (2024).
In 2019, he won the Most Promising Actor Award at the National Theatre Habima.

Matan Shavit began his television career already when he was 15 years old when he was cast in the series "The System" which was broadcast on the Children's Channel (2005).
