Born on May 28th, 1992, in Dallas, Texas, Vashoun Stjon—originally named Saintjohn Ward—entered a world steeped in musical inspiration as the youngest of three siblings in a family where rhythm and melody were paramount. His passion for music ignited at the tender age of five, singing alongside his mother in front of their family home, a moment that would lay the foundation for his artistic journey.
Tragedy struck in 2001 when Vashoun’s father passed away, a profound loss that shaped his perspective on love, loss, and resilience. This pivotal moment would become a wellspring of emotional depth in his songwriting. In 2003, seeking a fresh start, Vashoun’s family relocated to California, a move that opened the door to a vibrant music scene. It was here that he began to write and produce his own songs, immersing himself in the art of music creation.
At just 15, Vashoun transitioned from being a choir singer at his church to commanding the stage as a dynamic performing artist at Willow Glen High School. This leap marked the beginning of his serious involvement in music, as he competed in various local singing competitions, consistently coming out on top. His powerful voice and undeniable stage presence quickly captured the attention of fans and music lovers alike.

This tumultuous period led him to take nearly five years away from music to prioritize his mental health and family.
