Elliptic spiral

What is/are the parametric equation/s of an elliptic spiral?--86.125.178.4 (talk) 09:54, 6 June 2012 (UTC)

I've not heard of there being a particuar curve called the elliptic spiral. As a generic idea I'd gues it just means the sort of curve you'd see if you looked at one of he normal spirals at an angle. To get that sort of thing just squashing the y axis by some factor would do the job. Dmcq (talk) 11:23, 6 June 2012 (UTC)

So you'll want something like

$x=2\theta \cos \theta$

$y=\theta \sin \theta$
