Suspected sockpuppets

See the relevant Admin Noticeboard discussions here[1] and here[2].

This account shows editing patterns which are identical to those of the previous socks created by the sockpuppeteer. This includes creating drafts of Indian battles with fantastical troop numbers[3] (I am unable to provide a diff for this action by the earlier sock since that draft has since been deleted[4]). The links for the drafts are then inserted into genuine articles so as to mislead readers.[5][6]

The accounts also have the same habit of including this image[7] of the Mughal emperor Aurangzeb into the infoboxes of unrelated individuals.[8] Though the page the earlier sock had done this to (the sock's own user page) has now been deleted, an Admin has kindly provided the text from that page as evidence.[9]

Given the sheer number of socks created by this individual, as well as the fact that I had only discovered many of them by chance, I firmly believe there are others which I have not yet identified.   • Misleadingly used this image[11] of the Mughal emperor Aurangzeb as others had previously done.[12][13]
  • Inserted links to drafts into genuine articles so as to mislead users, again as had been done by other socks.[14][15]

I again ask that a CheckUser search be performed due to the sheer pervasiveness of the sockpuppeteer's activity. I also believe that there were earlier socks which had not been identified by the CheckUser search in the previous investigation, i.e User:Jattsidhu55, User:Baburjahangir and User:Baburakbar; all of these, along with the present sock, seem to identify themselves with the same name and birth date.[16][17][18][19]

Also, can anything further be done to prevent continued sock creations? They've made dozens of them unimpeded for nearly four months now. Alivardi (talk) 12:10, 29 January 2020 (UTC)

  • Creating the account under the name of a fictional battle (as many of the previous socks had done)
  • Inserting links to fictional battles into articles:
  • Inserting this image into the infoboxes of unrelated individuals:
    • previous example[23]
    • present example[24]
  • Associating themselves with the name "Pardeep Singh Sidhu", which I believe to be their own name:
    • previous example[25]
    • present example[26])

Given the sheer number of earlier socks created by this individual, as well as the fact that I had only discovered this one by chance, I believe there are others which I have not yet identified. I am also requesting Checkuser due to the pervasiveness of the sockpuppeteer's activity and the fact that they typically operate multiple accounts at a time. I believe I have identified another such account, User:Pardeepsingh2657, due to its similar name, that it has edited Battle of Khanwa and Battle of Ghaghra like the above sock has done, and that it has created a draft which is also called "Baburid Empire".[38].   • Both accounts were created within a day of each other, as well as only a few days after the previous socks had been blocked
  • Both edited Battle of Ghaghra, as recent previous socks had done:
  • Both Babur2196 and Alivardi1 added a mention of the Ming dynasty and the Jiajing Emperor to the above article[43][44]
  • Alivardi1 further added a mention of the 2nd Dalai Lama,[45] which was an article that Babur2196 had edited less than a day earlier[46]
  • Alivardi1 uses a variation of my account name. This mirrors when the previous sock Pardeep9465155362 copy-and-pasted my user page onto their own[47][48]
  • Babur2196 uses the word "Babur" in their account name. Pardeep9465155362 previously created a draft about the similarly named "Baburid Empire"[49]
  • Babur2196 subtly vandalised an article by adjusting the age of its subject. Previous socks had done this numerous times:

NicoCloforrin and Therealdeepbajwa2196 make exactly similar edits. They are adamant at lowering the budget of the film 83 using less reliable sources. I started a discussion on the talk page yet they did not pay attention to it. They keep reverting edits and continuously keep edit-warring. Kindly look into the matter.
