Suspected sockpuppets

Except the master, all relatively new accounts editing the new draft/article Ranju Gopal Barman, a non-notable "Indian researcher". The article should have been A7ed but is now at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Ranju Gopal Barman where it is headed for deletion. Because many of the new users editing the article may have been drawn to the article only because of the infamous "Newcomer task" system, I have requested a CU to sort out which accounts are actually socks (putting aside meat puppetry).   • So, I've looked at half a dozen of these accounts, and I'm seeing geolocations on three different continents so far, with nothing that looks like technical similarities. I think the 'newcomer task' theory is more likely than socking, or even meat - I note that none of them have gone to the AfD to argue for retention. I did get a random hit though - Jeterwasoverrated69 is   Confirmed to TheRealMemeMaster. Given their interest in getting articles written by a sockmaster undeleted, I'm going to block these as suspected to Judge Josie. I'm not going to spend time going through every one of the accounts, I doubt that any of them will be related to each other, or to the master. Girth Summit (blether) 15:29, 16 October 2022 (UTC)
  •   Clerk assistance requested: - Perhaps we should block the "Newcomer task" system. I'm not sure how best to do it, but I think part of this report should be merged into Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Judge Josie so we have a record of the two socks in addition to the tags.
