Purpose of use in article (WP:NFCC#8)	The EdStone is a visual gaffe. A description of the object is not sufficient, as evidenced by John Rentoul's (Tony Blair's biographer) description of the stone as the "most absurd, ugly, embarrassing, childish, silly, patronising, idiotic, insane, ridiculous gimmick I have ever seen". A viewer cannot determine if the stone is "ugly", in particular, without an image. Ed Miliband's bacon sandwich photograph sets a precedent for a photograph's necessity.
Not replaceable with free media because (WP:NFCC#1)	Images are from the unveiling of the stone, a press event. All images from the event are under copyright.
Minimal use (WP:NFCC#3)	Higher resolution images are available. This resolution used here preserves the legibility of the stone's text.
