This template generates an external link to the French Aeronautical Information Publication (AIP) for a specific airport. These links change every 28 days and the template calculates the correct URL based on the current date.

Airports in France

Parameters:

  1. (unnamed) – airport's ICAO location indicator, i.e. LFMN
  2. name (optional) – airport's location, i.e. NICE CÔTE D'AZUR (location and bold print are as shown in the AIP). Most airports show two locations: the first is the city served, second is the city where the airport is located.

Short version (used in airport lists):

  • Usage: {{AIP_FR|LFMN}}
  • Result: LFMN

Long version (used in airport articles):

Airports in French overseas territories

Parameters:

  1. (unnamed) – airport's ICAO location indicator, i.e. NTAA
  2. (unnamed) – AIP directory
  3. name (optional) – airport's location, i.e. TAHITI FAA'A (location and bold print are as shown in the AIP).

Short version (used in airport lists):

  • Usage: {{AIP_FR|NTAA|PAC-P}}
  • Result: NTAA

Long version (used in airport articles):

Technical information

The AIP is updated on a 28-day cycle as per the ICAO. For the online version of the French AIPs this causes a change in the URL involving the AIRAC effective date formatted as YYYY-MM-DD. This template uses the current date (presently 26 May 2025) to calculate the effective date. The following is a list for the current and upcoming AIRAC cycles:

  • 2025-05-15 — effective 15 May 2025 (AIRAC cycle 2506)
  • 2025-06-12 — effective 12 Jun 2025 (AIRAC cycle 2507)
  • 2025-07-10 — effective 10 Jul 2025 (AIRAC cycle 2508)
  • 2025-08-07 — effective 07 Aug 2025 (AIRAC cycle 2509)
  • 2025-09-04 — effective 04 Sep 2025 (AIRAC cycle 2510)
  • 2025-10-02 — effective 02 Oct 2025 (AIRAC cycle 2511)
  • 2025-10-30 — effective 30 Oct 2025 (AIRAC cycle 2512)
  • 2025-11-27 — effective 27 Nov 2025 (AIRAC cycle 2513)
  • 2025-12-25 — effective 25 Dec 2025 (AIRAC cycle 2601)
  • 2026-01-22 — effective 22 Jan 2026 (AIRAC cycle 2602)
  • 2026-02-19 — effective 19 Feb 2026 (AIRAC cycle 2603)
  • 2026-03-19 — effective 19 Mar 2026 (AIRAC cycle 2604)
  • 2026-04-16 — effective 16 Apr 2026 (AIRAC cycle 2605)

If this template stops working, the most likely reason is that the URL format has changed. To find the current format, go to the Aeronautical Information Publications page of the Service d'information aéronautique (SIA) website and view the AIP for an airport.
