Usage
This template returns the rank of a chess player in the FIDE world rankings and is used in the Infobox chess biography. In order for this to work, the infobox parameter |FideID= has to be filled in.
Data source: https://ratings.fide.com/top.phtml?list=men (which is not limited to men, the misleading URL notwithstanding).
Updates
This Java code extracts the data from the FIDE source. Its output should be pasted into the switch statement whenever FIDE publishes a new ranking. It is currently being maintained by User:joriki; if you want to report a problem or request a feature, please do so on their talk page.
