Usage

Use this rcat template on mainspace redirects only.

• This redirect category (rcat) template populates both Category:Redirects from Greek letter organization letters and Category:Printworthy redirects by default. In 2003, efforts were begun to support the Wikimedia Foundation's goal of increasing access and availability of Wikipedia articles in printed versions. Redirects from Greek letter organization initialisms are suitable for a printed version. In other words they are printworthy.

• Add this rcat to a redirect (not a talk-page redirect) in the following manner:

Template {{Rcat shell}} is an alias for the Redirect category shell template, which may be used to add as many appropriate rcats as needed, usually from one to seven, along with their parameters, to a redirect. For more information see the documentation on its template page. This rcat may also tag a redirect individually:

• From a Greek letter organization's initialism: This is a redirect from the initialism (usually Greek letter Unicode symbols) for a Greek letter organization (sorority, fraternity, honor society, etc.) to an article that is titled with or describes the expanded form of the initialism.
  • This rcat sorts to a subcategory of both Category:Redirects from initialisms and Category:Redirects to ASCII-only titles, so please do not sort this redirect to those parent categories.

• Use this rcat on all mainspace redirects from two-, three- or more-letter initialisms that symbolize Greek letter organizations such as sororities, fraternities and honor societies to articles titled with or that describe their expanded forms. To clarify, some Greek letters appear the same or similar to letters in the English (a.k.a. Roman and Latin) alphabet, for example:
  • APX – English letters A, P and X, which title an article about a class in complexity theory
  • ΑΡΧAlpha Rho Chi – Greek letters Α (alpha), Ρ (rho) and Χ (chi), which redirect to an article about a college fraternity

Important: Most redirects from Greek letter organization letters are composed only of letters from the Greek alphabet. A few of these organizations use other symbols and letters, for example, the FarmHouse International Fraternity uses the English letters "FH" to symbolize their fraternity, and yet FarmHouse is a "Greek letter organization".

Editors must take care not to use English letters when Greek letters are needed. If for example a three-letter redirect to a Greek letter organization is a mixture of Greek letters and a letter from the English alphabet, and the letters should all be from the Greek alphabet, then the redirect is considered to be a misspelling and should not be tagged with this rcat. Such misspelled redirects must be tagged as follows:
