Usage

The {{WikiProject Asia |class= |importance= }} project banner template should be added (not subst:ed), to the talk page of every article within the scope of the project. While the template does not require any additional parameters, it has a number of optional ones that add various extra features to the banner, described below. Several national and regional projects already have their own banners, and should be used where possible, although this banner may be used for assessment purposes if the others do not have assessment parameters.

Parameters

Note: to avoid needlessly cluttering up talk pages, it is usually appropriate to remove any unused parameters from the template.

General

An article's quality assessment is generated from the class parameter in the {{WikiProject Asia}} project banner on its talk page: {{WikiProject Asia|class=???}}

The following values may be used for the class parameter to describe the quality of the article (see Wikipedia:Content assessment for assessment criteria):

FA (for featured articles only; adds articles to Category:FA-Class Asia articles) Lua error in mw.lua at line 800: too many expensive function calls.
A (adds articles to Category:A-Class Asia articles) Lua error in mw.lua at line 800: too many expensive function calls.
GA (for good articles only; adds articles to Category:GA-Class Asia articles) Lua error in mw.lua at line 800: too many expensive function calls.
B (adds articles to Category:B-Class Asia articles) Lua error in mw.lua at line 800: too many expensive function calls.
C (adds articles to Category:C-Class Asia articles) Lua error in mw.lua at line 800: too many expensive function calls.
Start (adds articles to Category:Start-Class Asia articles) Lua error in mw.lua at line 800: too many expensive function calls.

For non-standard grades and non-mainspace content, the following values may be used for the class parameter:

??? (articles for which a valid class has not yet been provided are listed in Category:Unassessed Asia articles) Lua error in mw.lua at line 800: too many expensive function calls.

An article's importance assessment is generated from the importance parameter in the {{WikiProject Asia}} project banner on its talk page:

The following values may be used for the importance parameter to describe the relative importance of the article within the project (see Wikipedia:Version 1.0 Editorial Team/Priority of topic for assessment criteria):

Top (adds articles to Category:Top-importance Asia articles)  Top

Mid (adds articles to Category:Mid-importance Asia articles)  Mid

  • attention – "yes", if the article requires immediate attention; this should be used sparingly.
  • auto – "yes", this parameter is for bot-use.
  • needs-infobox – "yes", if the article lacks an infobox, otherwise remove this line.
