Austin A. Lane is a college official and former college president in the United States. In 2020 he was appointed Chancellor of Southern Illinois University.^[1]

He was born in New Jersey and graduated from Hackensack High School. He graduated from Langston University. He was Executive Vice Chancellor of Lone Star College in 2015.^[2]

He served as president of Texas Southern University (TSU), succeeding John M. Rudley.^[2]^[3] He departed after controversy over an admissions scandal at its law school and questions over entertainment spending from a foundation connected to the university.^[4]

He and his wife Loren Lane have three children.^[5]
