Blumira is a cybersecurity company that provides detection and response for small and medium-sized businesses. Its software monitors both on-premises and cloud environments from cybercrime, ransomware, and malicious software attacks.[1]
History
Founded in 2018 in Ann Arbor, Michigan, Blumira focused on delivering cloud-based security information and event management (SIEM) to teams with limited security expertise. Matthew Warner and Steve Fuller are the co-founders of Blumira.[2]
In 2022, Blumira named Jim Simpson, a former Duo Security product management leader, as CEO.[3]
In 2022, Blumira also achieved service organization control (SOC) 2 Type 2 compliance, which specifies how organizations should manage customer data.[4]
Also in 2022, Blumira announced that it had maintained a 100% customer satisfaction (CSAT) score in Q2.
Funding
In 2020, Blumira raised $2.6 million in funding, led by Chicago-based M25, an early-stage, Midwest-focused VC firm.[5]
In 2021 Blumira raised $10.3 million for its Series A round, led by Mercury Fund, with participation from Ten Eleven Ventures, M25, Array Ventures, and Duo Security co-founder and angel investor Jon Oberheide.[6]
In 2023, Blumira announced a Series B funding round of $15 million, led by Ten Eleven Ventures and joined by HPA, Mercury Fund, RPS Ventures, and Jon Oberheide.[7]
