Borislav Slavov (Bulgarian: Борислав Славов; born July 17, 1973, in Sofia, Bulgaria) is a Bulgarian composer, currently employed by the Belgian developer Larian Studios.
Life
Slavov was born on July 17, 1973, in Sofia, Bulgaria. He is a composer, known for Baldur’s Gate III (2023), Divinity : Original Sin 2 (2017) Ryse: Son of Rome (2013) and Crysis 3 (2013), among others.
Work
Borislav Slavov is a multiple award-winning video game composer and music director. His carrier in the industry began in 2001 with his first soundtrack production for the real-time strategy game Knights of Honor, under the nickname "Bobby Glorian".
After this successful debut, he continues to work on game titles such as : Two Worlds II (2010) and WorldShift (2008) as composer and Gothic 3 (2006) as featured musician.[1] In 2009, Slavov joins Crytek, where he works until 2016 on Crysis 2 (2011), Crysis 3 (2013), Warface (2013) and Ryse : Son of Rome (2013) as composer and music director. In 2016, he joins Larian Studios and score the music for the turn-based role-playing game Divinity : Original Sin 2 (2017).
Borislav Slavov is specialized in the production and implementation of adaptative video game music, which changes and evolves in real time according to the actions and decisions of the player.
The Sountrack for Baldur's Gate 3 was composed by Borislav Slavov and recorded with the Hungarian Studio Orchestra[2][3]. It has been listened to over 30 million times on Spotify by mid-November 2023.[4] The song Weeping Dawn by Slavov was nominated in the 11th Hollywood Music and Media Awards 2020.[5] The following year, the song I want to live was nominated in the 12th Hollywood Music in Media Awards.[6] At the 14th Hollywood Music in Media Awards, in 2023, Slavov was awarded for Best Original Score for video games. [7][8] Slavov was also nominated at The Game Awards 2023 in the "Best Score and Music" category.[9]
