Desert Rose is an Algerian film directed by Oussama Benhassine, released in 2023.

Synopsis

In 1960, in Reggane, in the Algerian Sahara, Abbes, a young boy, witnesses his dog being seized by French soldiers. Deprived of any support, in the absence of his father and with an indifferent grandfather, Abbes secretly ventures to the military base to retrieve his friend, unaware of the imminent danger associated with the first French nuclear test in Algeria.
