Knut Meling (born 3. februar 1950) is a Norwegian author and critic from Haugesund.
Meling has published novels in Norway and the Netherlands. During his career he has written for Morgenbladet, Samtiden, Vagant [1] and the New York Times[2], inn addition to plays[3] for NRK.
Meling made his debut at Aschehoug in 1978 with Days in Transit and in 1979 also published the novel The Storks Wings with the publishing house. He then moved to Gyldendal where his next three novels, Mørket faller som regn, Via Oslo and Søster hat were published. In 2020, Meling published Triumph, his first novel in over 30 years. In 2021, Min Flygende Himmel was published, also as Triumf, by Elefantus Forlag. In 2023 "Micki" was published by Via Forlag.
His books often revolve around identity and roleplay.
Meling studid litterature at The University of Akron.
