Tara Thomson[2](born on July 31, 2000[3]), known widely as Tara Yummy is an American content creator, TikTok star and stand-up comedian.[4]

Career

She began her career in 2019 while still in high school[5] by launching a YouTube channel[6], inspired by creators Jenna Marbles and Our2ndLife.[7] The channel features a variety of content, including vlogs and collaborations, which helped her establish a presence in the online community.

In May 2022, she ventured into stand-up comedy influenced by comedians Maz Jobrani and Max Amini,[8] she began performing. Her debut performance at Flappers Comedy Club was met with acclaim,[9] leading to her first tour across the United States, the "Selling Myself Short Tour" in 2023.[7]

In 2024, Thompson made her singing debut by remixing 6arelyhuman's song, "Faster n Harder" which gained popularity on TikTok.[10] She also participated in the podcast "Dropouts" alongside Zach Justice and Jared Bailey, discussing aspects of their daily lives.[11]

Beyond her work in entertainment, Tara has made significant contributions to the fashion industry as well. She was seleted as a muse for Marc Jacobs's Y2k collection, Heaven, embodying the grunge and Tumblr aesthetic.[4][6] She further collaborated with Hugo Boss, appearing at the Miami Grand Prix to promote their new collection and attract a younger audience. [12][13] Additionally, she featured in a TikTok video with Paris Hilton announcing her new show with Nicole Richie.[14][15] It was later announced as part of the VidCon Anaheim 2024 lineup[16] and she was selected as Playboy's July copy spotlight and Bunny of the Month.[17] Furthermore, she appeared in Landon Barker's music video for the single "Over You".[18]

Personal life

Born in Maryland[9] and raised in Los Angeles[6][5], Tara's heritage is rooted in Iran, where her parents immigrated from.[19] She previously dated fellow YouTuber Jake Webber, with whom she collaborated extensively during their five-year relationship before their separation in 2023.[2]
