The World Alpagut Federation (WAF) is an international sports organization established in 2014 to promote the Alpagut martial art and to manage Alpagut clubs and federations in other countries. The Federation has official offices, clubs and federations in more than 50 countries around the world.[1] [2]
History
Since the beginning of 2014, on the initiative of the founder of Alpagut martial art Kutsan Vasif Namazov[3], it was decided to establish an International sports organization called WAF for the development of Alpagut sport. Farid Alizade was elected as the first president of the federation, and on February 12, 2014 the federation was officially registered and started its activities.[4][5][6]
First Congress
In 2015, it was decided to reform the WAF for the development of Alpagut. On January 12, 2015 Farid Alizade and the structure of the federation resigned. On March 18, 2015, the general assembly of the World Alpagut Federation convened an extraordinary congress at the Ataturk Center in Azerbaijan. The composition of the Board of the WAF was determined as follows:

According to the decisions, Nizami Jafarov, MP of the Parliament of the Republic of Azerbaijan, was elected as the new president of the WAF. The previous president of the organization, businessman Farid Alizadeh, was declared honorary president of the WAF.[7][8] [9]
Second Congress
On January 7, 2015, the Board of Directors of the WAF convened an extraordinary meeting. At the meeting, Ganira Pashayeva, Member of the Parliament of the Republic of Azerbaijan, was elected 1st Vice President of the WAF, and Araz Abdullasoy, who previously held the position of 1st Vice President of the Federation, was elected Vice President for Legal Affairs.[10] [11] [12]
Third Congress
On August 30, 2022, the third congress of the World Alpagut Federation of was held in the Central Scientific Library of the National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan. At the congress, Jala Ahmadova, Konul Nurullayeva, Vasif Namazov, Betul Altintash, Gudrat Nuriyev, Farid Alizade, Faig Mammadov, Nurane Shikhaliyeva, Amanzhol Tuberov, Emil Rahimov, Ali Gurbani were elected as members of the Board of the WAF, and Vasif Namazov was elected as Chairman of the Board of the WAF.[13] [14]
The new executive structure: Azerbaijani MP Jala Ahmedova was elected president of the Federation, Azerbaijani MP Konul Nurullayeva was elected first vice-president, Emil Rahimov and Farhad Aliyev were elected vice-presidents. Before that, MPs Nizami Jafarov and Ganira Pashayeva, who headed the Federation, were elected honorary members of the WAF.[15]
Recognition
The World Federation of Alpagut was registered on February 12, 2014 under the number 434162041 and began operations.
- On June 18, 2023, the World Federation of Alpagut was registered with the official organization International Standard Name Identifier (ISNI).[16]
- On May 17, 2022, he was inducted as a member of the International Council of Sport Science and Physical Education (ICSSPE).[17] [18] [19]
- On December 7, 2022, it was admitted as a member of the International Association of Sports for All (TAFISA),[20] and on November 3, 2023 he was admitted to permanent membership of TAFISA. [21][22] [23]
- On March 10, 2023, he was accepted as a member of the International Martial Arts Games Committee (IMGC).[24]
- 1O May 10, 2023, he was accepted as a member of the International Fair Play Committee. (CIFP).[25][26]
- On November 25, 2023, he was accepted as a member of the International Sports Network Organization (ISNO).[27]
- On February 14, 2024, it was recognized by the General Association of World Sports Federations (GAWSF) and accepted as an official member.[28] [29] [30]

Since its inception, the World Alpagut Federation has held presentations, seminars and international tournaments in various countries.
