Criodrilidae

The reviewer comments appear below the article text. {{Taxobox}} The family Criodrilidae[ref] is represented by genera Criodrilus and Biwadrilus that are limicolous (mud-dwelling) and/or aquatic earthworms endemic to the Palaearctic currently known only from Europe and Japan, respectively. Only 3 or 4 species are described and the type, Criodrilus lacuum has been introduced into the Americas (North and South) and is found rarely in plant pots or paddy fields. Criodrilidae member species are characterised by holoic nephridia absent from anterior segments (cf. Pontodrilus), a simple gut with no gizzard and no typhlosole. They are true earthworms, having a complex vascular system with capillaries, the male pores (on 15 or 13) behind the female pores (on 14) and a multi-celled clitellum. They were at one time placed in the earthworm families Glossoscolecidae or Almidae but at present are considered to constitute their own family. Criodrilidae species are found in mud next to lakes and waterways (cf. North American Sparganophilus). They feed in the low oxygen mud and organic material, but with their highly vascularized posterior region on or near the surface. Criodrilus has no accepted common name; Biwadrilus is the Lake Biwa earthworm. Production Todd McFarlane Entertainment announced that Todd McFarlane will produce along with Paramount Pictures and David Fincher to direct the thriller film, Torso. Bill Mechanic and Don Murphy will serve as producer and Ehren Krueger will write the screenplay. In mid June of 2006, Mr. Fosco was “Confirmed-Catholic,” by Cardinal Francis George (personally) at Holy Name Cathedral, in Chicago. Brother-in-Christ Robert Dominic sponsored Mr. Fosco. Chris Ofili (b. 1968) was born in Manchester, England and has spent his entire art career in England. Ofili studied at the Chelsea School of Art before completing a Masters degree in painting at the Royal College of Art.[1] In 1992, he was awarded a British Council travel scholarship to Zimbabwe where he got the idea to use elephant dung as a substance in his art, for its sculptural qualities as well as its metaphorical resonance. As a black Briton of Nigerian descent, that first visit to Africa encouraged him to reconsider his own identity and to develop a highly personal aesthetic through which he examines issues of black culture, imagery, and sexual stereotyping. His work draws on a wide range of cultural references and popular material, from 1970s comics to contemporary black music and pornographic magazines. He won the Turner Prize in 1998 for his “inventiveness, exuberance, humor, and technical richness in painting”. The Turner Prize is a contemporary art award held at Tate Gallery that has provoked debate since its inception in 1984.[2] In September of 1999, the Brooklyn Museum of Art (BMA) held an exhibit called "Sensations" which displayed the works of young, radical, British artists such as Damien Hirst, Marcus Harvey, and Chris Ofili. One of Ofili’s works in the show was “The Holy Virgin Mary” and depicted a half naked Virgin Mary covered in elephant feces. Mayor Rudolph Giuliani said that the BMA should have its funding pulled for showing such a work and should not be sponsored by the City of New York. Hilary Clinton, who was running for her first Senate seat at the time, defended the museum. Giuliani, who is Roman Catholic, accused Clinton of supporting the use of public money to attack the Catholic religion.[3] Ofili was also born and reared a Roman Catholic. He first rose to prominence in the long-running UK police drama series 'Z-Cars' as PC Newcombe, a character he would play for 4 years. He is also well known for his appearances in 'Doctor Who', first as Peter Haydon in the 1967 story 'Tomb of the Cybermen', starring Patrick Troughton as the Doctor, and later he appeared as the Axon Man in the Jon Pertwee story 'Claws of Axos' in 1971. Other regular roles include 'The Gentle Touch' as Detective Inspector Mike Turnbull (1982-84), a character he also played in the follow-up series 'C.A.T.S. Eyes' in 1985. He later played Richard in 2 seasons of 'Birds of a Feather' in 1998. He also appeared as the Chief Constable in the popular drama series 'A Touch of Frost', starring David Jason, in 1999 and returned to play the role in 2003. His recent television appearances include 'Hollyoaks', 'EastEnders', 'Doctors' and most recently in a 2007 episode of 'Holby City'. He has also worked consistently on the stage, working in theatres all over the country, including Brighton, Manchester, Edinburgh, Derby, and Norwich. His most recent production was John Galsworthy's 'The Mob' at the Orange Tree Theatre, Richmond, in 2005. He has also voiced hundreds of commercials and presented many Corporate Videos.
