Copyright investigations (manual article tagging)
- Wikipedia talk:Manual of Style/Music#Citation of first line — proposal to edit Wikipedia:Manual of Style/Music#Lyrics to allow lyrics in articles about songs may attract copyright concerns, so I'm posting here to draw this to the attention of the WMF copyright team (sorry, wasn't sure where was the best place to raise this). —sroc 💬 13:42, 5 March 2014 (UTC)
- Hi, User:sroc. I'm sorry, but this probably isn't the best place. :/ I'd recommend you bring it up at WT:NFC if you want volunteer feedback. If you're looking for feedback from the WMF copyright team, they don't have out here - you'd have to write to legal
wikimedia.org and ask them if they can do some research for Meta:Wikilegal. The attorneys at the WMF aren't able to advise directly on such issues but can offer research that may help in crafting policies. As it happens, I am an employee of the Wikimedia Foundation as well as a volunteer and can convey that request for you, but given my dual roles (staff-volunteer), I really can't weigh in on the discussion in volunteer mode where my staff involvement may be requested. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 22:21, 18 March 2014 (UTC)
- @Moonriddengirl: Thanks! I've now posted this at Wikipedia talk:Non-free content/Archive 62#Quoting lyrics but please feel free to notify the WMF legal team as well. Just want to make sure this doesn't sneak under the radar and become an issue down the line. —sroc 💬 22:30, 18 March 2014 (UTC)
- Communicated, User:sroc. :) I'll let you know if they're able to help, although note that it can take a few weeks thereafter to get a response. --Maggie Dennis (WMF) (talk) 11:22, 19 March 2014 (UTC)
- @Mdennis (WMF): Thanks, again! Feel free to post any response at Wikipedia talk:Manual of Style/Music#Citation of first line. I'll be watching there, along with others interested in the proposal. —sroc 💬 12:19, 19 March 2014 (UTC)

- Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Reykjavík Museum of Photography (history · last edit · rewrite) from http://www.icelandguest.com/travel-guide/activities/museum-and-culture/reykjavik-museum-of-photography/. (t) Josve05a (c) 20:05, 5 March 2014 (UTC)
- Note. This article has now been copy-pasted into mainspace, at Reykjavík Museum of Photography, apparently still with copyright problems. I've blanked that too and listed it under today's date. Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 19:05, 12 March 2014 (UTC)
