Editors with over 800 edits are ignored by the bot by default, because it assumes they should know the rules by now. However, you can opt back in if you wish. For more info on this see User:SineBot#Opting back in for experienced editors. :-) benzband (talk) 18:10, 17 April 2012 (UTC)

Is there any Mac anti-vandalism software?

WP:TW is useful, but it isn't just an anti-vandal tool. I use it too. WP:IGLOO is still in alpha testing, that's even before beta, but it's okay (Huggle is better, but that's only for PCs). I do not use it. I've never used Stiki either Wikipedia:STiki. It is again not a main reverting tool, and has less than a million reverts. Hope that helps. Dan653 (talk) 00:12, 26 April 2012 (UTC)

STiki is a very good anti vandal tool. It catches vandalism using filters, and I myself use this as a vandalism reverting source. You should give it a try. Dipankan ^{(Have a chat?)} 12:46, 26 April 2012 (UTC)

How can I see the latest revisions to Wikipedia, especially IP edits?

On the left side under interaction click on recent changes (Just to see latest revisions).
At the top to the right of utilities click IP's contribs (for IP contribs).

STiki Question

I have an STiki question for you. When I use STiki, sometimes, I see a section blanking and identify it as vandalism. Then, (like I got last night), the user sends me a message that I warned him after he reverted an edit and blanked a section that a user had created as vandalism. I also sent myself a warning after I identified a section that was full of random characters and deleted it. Can you please give me advice on how to avoid doing this? By the way, I would also like to request rollback soon, as I have been patrolling the edit filter log and the recent changes page for 3 weeks now and have been using Twinkle and STiki for a week now. Hi Electric, in the STiki interface there are a set of links to the bottom right:

(Wiki-DIFF)

(Current-Page) (Page-Hist)

(User-Contribs) (User-Talk)

In cases when you are unsure about a revert, besides "passing" it on to a different user, you can check the diff and page history. This puts the edit back into context so you can get a better idea of whether to revert or not. benzband (talk) 20:07, 18 May 2012 (UTC)

I saw this question and it is almost the same as mine so I'll just merge them. In STiki I was going for a few test rounds because I had never used STiki. The first page I saw was severe vandalism. I saw the original page on the left, in the middle I saw a bunch of plus symbols which meant the editor added content, and on the left I saw what the editor added. It was vandalism. So I did what the help page said todo, press the vandalism (undo) button. A few hours later my talk page was flodded with complaints. I investigated and saw that STiki had put the vandilism back on and had warned the users that had reverted the vandalism before me. I don't know what happened. STiki showed me what the editor did, which was vandalism and I told it to undo this edit and it did the total opposite. Jami son^Guestbook_Userboxes 12:16, 29 May 2012 (UTC)

That sounds weird. I seldom use STiki, and i don't remember a problem like this ever happening (i think if the page has since been edited the program normally cancels the revert and moves on). I'd suggest bringing it up at Wikipedia talk:STiki. benzband (talk) 19:10, 29 May 2012 (UTC)

Greetings, as the developer of WP:STiki. I should note that some related discussion has already occurred at User_talk:Jamison_Lofthouse#Take_care_with_tools and Wikipedia_talk:STiki/TalkArchive05#STiki_pitting_vandal_fighters_against_each_other. Quoting User:Allens, "The STiki diff display is the exact same as the Wikipedia standard diff display in regard to which side is which - the old version is on the left, the new version is on the right." However, some novice STiki users, especially those moving at a high pace, tend to make mistakes with this. I am speculating that there is an impulse to "revert" at the first sign of bad activity, without really considering which side/version (previous/newer) the damage was in.

Reviewing the actions taken by Jamison from my database, I can confirm this was indeed the case. Taking one's time and looking at the edit summary are the best suggestions I can provide (and certain queues will never pop a revert edit; but the one Jamison was using is operated by a 3rd party). STiki is considering moving to stronger qualification requirements for users, but at ~1000 edits, Jamison should have been pretty capable. It seems that STiki supporters and CVU folks have gotten him on the right track though. I see no evidence of a technical issue with the tool. West.andrew.g (talk) 19:49, 29 May 2012 (UTC)

BTW, the first three reverts you (Jamison) did using STiki were fine, and indeed the vandal in one case has been blocked. The problems seem to have started after that, with "Prayer wheel ‎ (Reverted edit(s) by Calvin 1998 identified as test/vandalism using STiki)" and "Republic of Manitobah ‎ (Reverted edit(s) by Isarra identified as test/vandalism using STiki)". This is unsurprising; the edits with the highest probability of being vandalism are first in the queue, which can unfortunately lead one to think that all the edits will be definite vandalism like the first few. Help

no way is not quite correct. @99: If you can't get an account (like through WP:ACC), but still want to use twinkle, you can download twinkle and install it local and using it like an Greasemonkey script. mabdul 17:33, 14 June 2012 (UTC)

I successfully launched the WP:Igloo anti-vandal tool but unfortunately I can't make my way around it. I have tried to look for help on line but unsuccessful. Please help me with that. What Warning Should be Given?

I reverted these edits and noticed that the IP was last warned yesterday with a level 3 at 17:42. My question is whether are those warnings still fresh enough for me to progress to level four or not? I don't know what the hour/day amount is to consider a warning old/stale and want to make sure that I am warning correctly. Thanks, SassyLilNugget (talk) 15:31, 2 October 2012 (UTC)

This might come a little late, but if the IP had edited the previous day it might still be fresh. I tend to step the warnings up from the last one unless more than a week has passed since the IP's last edit. However, with IPs it's always a gamble. A boat that can float!
