Is this page used, and/or has it ever been used? (At the present time, this page has no incoming links.) If not, it's just an unused artifact created by a indefinitely blocked editor that has no clear use. Steel1943 (talk) 19:29, 17 March 2020 (UTC)

  • Question - 13 of the 21 words on the page ask you to notify WT:AFC of any intent or discussion about deleting this. Why haven't you? Ben · Salvidrim!  20:12, 17 March 2020 (UTC)
    • @Salvidrim!: It has now been done. (Guess my experiences with seeing most of the miscellaneous, unused stuff created by the blocked editor over the years traditionally getting deleted at XFD forums blinded my ability to see the comment you referenced ... so that would be the "why".) Steel1943 (talk) 20:49, 17 March 2020 (UTC)
      • Thanks. I'm assuming it is used somewhere within AFCH as a link to an example AfD but if anybody knows it would be the AFC team. Ben · Salvidrim!  20:51, 17 March 2020 (UTC)
  • Keep This is very likely used very much like User:Example or Draft:Example are used. It's a page that you want to have to show an example of a page that's correctly setup, or you've created a page listed in a form to prevent it's accidental creation. Short of a compelling reason for deletion, this should be kept. Headbomb {t · c · p · b} 23:33, 17 March 2020 (UTC)
    • Is there any evidence that is actually the case? Otherwise, this is just another one of the creator's unfinished projects/tasks that never saw the light of day and/or was never utilized, leaving people scratching their heads about why it exists and leaving its existence for anyone who wants to use it hidden by its obscure name and lack of incoming links to reference its existence. Steel1943 (talk) 01:54, 18 March 2020 (UTC)
      • If it's used in forms, you won't see it in a whatlinks here searches. Headbomb {t · c · p · b} 01:59, 18 March 2020 (UTC)
        • Yeah that's my assumption, that it's used in forms or linked to from somewhere in the AFCH script. Ben · Salvidrim!  02:56, 18 March 2020 (UTC)
        • ...No kidding. I'm asking what page (or "form" I suppose) uses this? Unless a specific page is mentioned (or template, module, tool, etc.) that references or uses this page, my aforementioned concern still applies. Steel1943 (talk) 06:49, 18 March 2020 (UTC)
          • I guess the answer to your question is: AFCH. Ben · Salvidrim!  13:57, 18 March 2020 (UTC)
            • So I did a bit of digging. I can't find a reference to this page anywhere in the GitHub code of the master AFCH. So what I did was look through T13's edits around the time he created this page, and it happened just after [1] so clearly AFCH-develop does insert links to WP:AFD/Example. Presumably that's the default link when a better page isn't provided. https://github.com/WPAFC/afch/issues/6 also is also relevant as it discusses AFCH-master and AFCH-develop branches. • @Salvidrim!: Thanks for taking the effort to figure this out and find where the information might be. I feel confident (re-)withdrawing this discussion now, so I will do so. Steel1943 (talk) 14:59, 18 March 2020 (UTC)
