Suspected sockpuppets

Both of these accounts' only edits are delete !votes and arguments on Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Mahfouz Marei Mubarak bin Mahfouz. See also Wikipedia:Sockpuppet_investigations/Ctfn/Archive which started with keep !votes in the same AfD and may or may not be related. Stuartyeates (talk) 07:10, 16 April 2014 (UTC)

  • CheckUser requested - Self-endorsed by clerk for checkuser attention - For confirmation and sleeper check as well as a check for a link to Ctfn. Callanecc (talkcontribslogs) 11:44, 16 April 2014 (UTC)
  • These two are Red X Unrelated to one another, and they don't appear to be related to Ctfn, either. This result doesn't rule out meatpuppetry, of course, so please examine the behavior of the accounts in both cases. —DoRD (talk) 13:26, 16 April 2014 (UTC)
  • information Administrator note It's very common for single-purpose accounts to be created to show up at AfD discussions. They are sometimes sockpuppets, they are sometimes someone who was reading the article, saw the AfD notice, and decided to create an account to save or delete the article (depending on how they feel about the article), and sometimes they are someone recruited to Wikipedia from a blog or forum post or other form of canvassing. But that in itself is not a good reason to suspect sockpuppetry. Also, while I know that Ctfn was socking (I'm the one who did the blocks in that case) it doesn't make sense for these to be connected because both of these accounts were opposed to Ctfn and their socks. Combined with CheckUser finding no technical relationship, I'm confident in marking this case for closure with no action needed. -- Atama 23:17, 18 April 2014 (UTC)
