Suspected sockpuppets

All showed up at Talk:Siege of Jerusalem (AD 70), with no previous edits to the article or talk, supporting the same agenda. All have a history of era style changes, many in violation of MOS:ERA. All appear to edit at the same time of day and have additional matches in editing style and behavior as well. And (what prompted me to file this report), for accounts with so few edits, a huge percentage of overlap in the Editor Interaction Analyser. Mojoworker (talk) 18:04, 19 March 2018 (UTC)

Suspected sockpuppets

  • The day the accounts were created they edited their user pages to just say "TBC". [1] [2]
  • They both edit almost exclusively to change things like "Scottish", "English", "Welsh" to "British". Samples from Politovsky [3], [4], [5]. Sample from Muirofsara [6], [7], [8]
  • They both like to change "BCE" to "BC". Politovsky [9] [10]. Muirofsara [11] [12].
  • They both talk about reverting or restoring to "consensus" even though clearly no consensus exists as the articles are reverted back and forth endlessly. [13] [14]
  • They both leave similar edit summaries "restore version changed by X on Y". [15] [16]
  • They edit a bunch of the same articles to make identical edits. [17] AlistairMcMillan (talk) 00:37, 14 March 2021 (UTC)

Just realised there is another similar account, Polyssotsky.

And another with suspiciously similar edits, Capristic.

Also seems to edit as a logged out user (94.119.64.1)

  • 10 March 2021 - 94.119.64.1 asks on the teahouse how to leave a comment on an article and receives a reply. [27]
  • 11 March 2021 - Muirofsara leaves a comment on an article. [28]
  • Aside from that very similar edits. The dedication to making everyone "British" rather than "English", "Scottish", etc. [29] [30]
  • The same dedication to eliminating "BCE" and "CE". [31] [32]
  • Editing the same articles as Capristic. [33]
  • Editing the same articles as Muirofsara. [34]
  • Editing the same articles as Politovsky. [35]

The users are somewhat  Possible to Mevagiss - same country, but the geolocation data of that country isn't reliable. That's all I can really give you...

Suspected sockpuppets

User has a history of similar edits to previous suspected sockpuppets, such as changing nationalities on the same articles edited by the aforementioned accounts e.g. changing "Scottish" or "English" to "British"[50], which was previously done by Polyssotsky[51].

Another example: Similar edit at Keira Knightley by Riftbase [52],previously done by Capristic[53].

Generally making similar edits to the same articles as previous socks did in the past Muirofsara[54] Capristic[55] Polyssotsky[56]. Magatta (talk) 23:56, 1 December 2021 (UTC)

  • All socks in the archive are  Stale for comparison using the CU tool. However, based comparing the CU logs this user is  Possible based on the limited technical evidence that I can compare. No additional accounts seen when running CU on the reported sock.  Behavioural evidence needs evaluation. Dreamy Jazz talk to me | my contributions 10:15, 2 December 2021 (UTC)
