![]() Español: Alma Llanera es una canción compuesta por Pedro Elías Gutiérrez sobre un texto de Rafael Bolívar Coronado.[1] Obedece a un tipo de canción popular en Venezuela, el joropo. La música de Alma Llanera es una adaptación que el Maestro Pedro Elías Gutiérrez realizó del vals “Marisela” de Sebastián Díaz Peña (primera parte de Alma Llanera), y el vals "Mita" del compositor Jan Gerard Palm (1831-1906) de Curazao (segunda parte de Alma Llanera). Alma llanera está considerada como un himno nacional oficioso de Venezuela. Es una tradición en Venezuela poner fin a cualquier reunión social o fiesta con la entonación de Alma Llanera. La canción nació dentro de un espectáculo homónimo de zarzuela, estrenada el 19 de septiembre de 1914 en el Teatro Caracas, bajo el nombre “Alma Llanera: zarzuela en un acto” por la compañía española de Matilde Rueda.[2]
English: Alma Llanera ("Soul Of The Plains") is a Venezuelan song, a joropo, created by Venezuelan musicians Pedro Elías Gutiérrez (composer) and Rafael Bolívar Coronado (lyricist). It was originally part of a zarzuela whose premiere was on September 19, 1914, at the Teatro Caracas. Alma Llanera has since come to be considered as Venezuela's unofficial second national anthem. Its hundreth anniversary was marked by its being has declared Bien de Interés Cultural.[3] |
