English: The figure highlights results (electric potential, electric field modulus, electric-field lines, net charge density, and particle positions) from numerical simulations of homogeneous isotropic turbulence laden with a bidisperse suspension of oppositely charged particles (Ref. Di Renzo & Urzay, Nature Communications 9, 1676, 2018). These simulations involved the numerical integration of the Navier Stokes equations during 250,000 CPU hours on 4176 cores (Intel Xeon E5-2695) in the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL) Quartz supercomputer. |
