Summary
| Description | A small crustacean called a Triops (Triops newberryi) digging a nest and egg laying — watch the egg sac closely. During the first minute, the Triops digs energetically at the shallowing part of the tank until it makes a little volcano of sand. At around 1:08 the eggs are expelled from the egg sac. After that, the individual mixes the eggs with the sand and many of them get covered. Some eggs (pinkish colour) are visible (just) at the front of the nest. Triops from commercial eggs labelled TriopsUSA. |
