Usage

This template will display information about quality assessments. The template is generally used for the instructions on a WikiProject's "/Assessment" page.

Full syntax

The full syntax is as follows: <syntaxhighlight lang="wikitext" style="overflow:auto;"> An article's quality assessment is generated from the class parameter in the {{[[Template:|]]}} project banner on its talk page: {{|class=???}}

The following values may be used for the class parameter to describe the quality of the article (see Wikipedia:Content assessment for assessment criteria):

FA (for featured articles only; adds articles to Category:FA-Class articles)  FA
A (adds articles to Category:A-Class articles)  A
GA (for good articles only; adds articles to Category:GA-Class articles)  GA
B (adds articles to Category:B-Class articles) B
C (adds articles to Category:C-Class articles) C
Start (adds articles to Category:Start-Class articles) Start
Stub (adds articles to Category:Stub-Class articles) Stub
List (adds articles to Category:List-Class articles) List
SIA (for set index articles; adds articles to Category:SIA-Class articles) SIA

For non-standard grades and non-mainspace content, the following values may be used for the class parameter:

Category (for categories; adds pages to Category:Category-Class articles) Category
FM (for featured media only; adds pages to Category:FM-Class articles)  FM
Needed (for articles that do not yet exist, but have been identified as subjects that should be covered; adds pages to Category:Needed-Class articles) Needed
Portal (for portal pages; adds pages to Category:Portal-Class articles) Portal
Project (for project pages; adds pages to Category:Project-Class articles) Project
Template (for templates and modules; adds pages to Category:Template-Class articles) Template
NA (for any other pages where assessment is unnecessary; adds pages to Category:NA-Class articles) NA

Parameters

  • |banner= (required) - the name of the WikiProject's project banner template, without the "Template:" prefix. This parameter is found in the banner name field. (Note: a template shortcut can also be used).
For example: |BANNER_NAME=Template:banner
  • |topic= (required) - set so that the quality categories are: "Food-Class topic articles". This parameter can be found in one of two places. By default, the topic field would equal the project field, or if it exists, the corresponding assessment category field.
For example: |PROJECT=topic  or  |ASSESSMENT_CAT=topic articles
  • |extraparam= (optional) - extra parameters to be passed over to the WikiProject's Banner, usually the name of a task force with a yes. This parameter is found in the corresponding task force field.
For example: |tf 1=extraparam=yes
