This is a documentation subpage for Template:Caselaw source.

This template is used on approximately 4,100 pages and changes may be widely noticed. Test changes in the template's /sandbox or /testcases subpages, or in your own user subpage. Consider discussing changes on the talk page before implementing them.

Usage

All parameter names must be lowercase.

All parameters, vertical format

case is required. Specify it exactly as you would like it to appear.
sources. At least one of the following source parameters must be specified, with a URL pointing to where the case text may be found.
- predefined sources. Several commonly-cited repositories are predefined:
  - cornell: URL on Legal Information Institute at Cornell Law School
  - courtlistener: URL on CourtListener
  - findlaw: URL on FindLaw
  - googlescholar: URL on Google Scholar
  - justia: URL on Justia
  - leagle: URL on Leagle
  - loc: URL on Library of Congress
  - openjurist: URL on OpenJurist
  - oyez: URL on Oyez
  - vlex: URL on vLex
- other sources. Up to 9 additional sources not listed above can be used via the other_sourcen and other_urln parameters (where n is between 1 and 9). See examples.
  - other_sourcen: name of source
  - other_urln: URL of the case on other source n
