Usage
Template {{Comets}}, in its autocollapsed state, should always be added if an article is about a single cometary object. It should be placed between the external links and categories. For numbered comets the template comes before {{PeriodicComets Navigator}}.
This template's initial visibility currently defaults to autocollapse, meaning that if there is another collapsible item on the page (a navbox, sidebar, or table with the collapsible attribute), it is hidden apart from its title bar; if not, it is fully visible.
To change this template's initial visibility, the |state= parameter may be used:
- <syntaxhighlight lang="wikitext" inline="1">{{Comets|state=collapsed}}</syntaxhighlight> will show the template collapsed, i.e. hidden apart from its title bar.
- <syntaxhighlight lang="wikitext" inline="1">{{Comets|state=expanded}}</syntaxhighlight> will show the template expanded, i.e. fully visible.
- Note: The "Lists" section will display in a collapsed state by default. Use
{{Comets|Lists}}to open the "Lists" section. This may also be used in conjunction with thestate =named parameter, as described above.
