This template is used to tag pages for speedy deletion under the speedy deletion criteria, specifically CSD U1. There is a separate template for each criterion – see the table to the right.

This template places the page into the categories: Candidates for speedy deletion, and Candidates for speedy deletion by user.

Usage

The template should be placed at the top of the page to be deleted.

Parameters

This is the most basic form of the template.

{{db-u1|bot=ExampleBot}}

Bot accounts will specify the |bot= parameter to notify the reviewing admin that the page was tagged by an automated process.

{{db-u1|diff=Diff#}}

Where Diff# is a diff showing where the user requested deletion. This is obviously not required if the user places the template, or if the deletion request is on the listed page.

{{db-u1|rationale=Additional explanation}}

The "rationale" parameter allows specifying an additional explanation for the request.

CSS and Javascript pages

To request the deletion of a CSS or JavaScript page – a page in User: space whose name ends with .css or .js – use the following format: <syntaxhighlight lang=javascript>/* */</syntaxhighlight> The deletion message will not be displayed, but the page will be categorised into Category:Candidates for speedy deletion by user, where an administrator will be able to find it.
