This template creates a header for an NFL expansion draft table. It should be used in conjunction with the templates in the #See also section. The template was adapted from {{NFL team draft start}}, which is used for NFL team college drafts.
Usage
<syntaxhighlight lang="wikitext" width=100%>

Experience
College
Notes

</syntaxhighlight>
year: the year of the expansion draft (i.e., 1967).
teamname: the full name of the expansion team (i.e., New Orleans Saints).
Optional citation parameters:
p_ref: adds a citation to the "position" column. This is useful when using data from contemporary sources that may differ from most modern sources, such as antiquated position names.
e_ref: adds a citation to the "experience" column.
c_ref: adds a citation to the "college" column. This is useful for similar reasons as "p_ref" (i.e., when using contemporary rather than modern names of institutions).
