This template is used to mark serious discussion that may superficially resemble humorous content.

Syntax

• |section= — OPTIONAL – whether this template applies to a page or to a section
  • DEFAULT: (none) − page
  • OPTIONS:
    • yes − section

• |type= — OPTIONAL – type of discussion
  • DEFAULT: discussion
  • OPTIONS:
    • consensus − consensus-seeking discussion
    • XFD − deletion discussion
    • MFD − miscellany for deletion
    • CFD − categories for discussion
    • TFD − templates for discussion
    • RFD − redirects for discussion
    • AFD − articles for deletion
    • FFD − files for discussion
    • RM − requested move
    • DRV − deletion review
    • RFC − request for comment

• |april= — OPTIONAL – whether to make the template specific for April Fools' Day
  • DEFAULT: (none) − humorously
  • OPTIONS:
    • yes − as an April Fools' Day joke
