Template:R ME with possibilities/doc

Usage

Use this rcat template on mainspace redirects only.

• This redirect category (rcat) template populates Category:Middle-earth redirects with possibilities and Category:Printworthy redirects by default. In 2003, efforts were begun to support the Wikimedia Foundation's goal of increasing access and availability of Wikipedia articles in printed versions. Redirects from titles that might possibly become articles themselves someday are considered to be suitable for a printed version of this encyclopedia. In other words they are printworthy.

• Add this rcat to a redirect page (not a talk-page redirect) in the following manner:

Template {{Rcat shell}} is an alias for the Redirect category shell template, which may be used to add as many appropriate rcats as needed, usually from one to seven, along with their parameters, to a redirect. For more information see the documentation on its template page. This rcat may also tag a redirect individually:

• Middle-earth, with possibilities: This is a redirect from the name of a Middle-earth topic which currently redirects to a section or to an entry in a list or other article, and which may be expandable into a separate article. The topic described by the title is more detailed than what is currently provided on the target page, or section of that page.
  • When the target page becomes too large, this redirect may be replaced with an article carved out of the target page. See also {{R ME to section}}, and when appropriate, use both together.
  • If the topic is not susceptible to a major expansion, tag instead with {{R ME to section}} or {{R ME to list entry}} as applicable.
  • Do not replace these redirected links with a link directly to the target page.

• Use this rcat to tag any mainspace redirect that, in your opinion, may stand alone as an article on a notable Middle-earth subject. If you see a redirect with this template, and you are moved to write the article, then be BOLD!
