Template:R from CVE/doc
![]() | This is a documentation subpage for Template:R from CVE. It may contain usage information, categories and other content that is not part of the original template page. |
![]() | This template should not be substituted nor used to tag soft redirects. |
Usage
- This redirect category (rcat) template populates Category:Redirects from Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures and Category:Unprintworthy redirects by default. In 2003, efforts were begun to support the Wikimedia Foundation's goal of increasing access and availability of Wikipedia articles in printed versions. Mainspace redirects from CVE identifiers are not usually suitable for a printed version. In other words such redirects are generally unprintworthy. See below for how to tag those few redirects that are printworthy.
![]() | Please do not alter the printworthy settings of this rcat without first notifying the Version 1.0 Editorial Team, who are responsible for any and all materials, including redirects, that go into a printed version of Wikipedia. |
- Add this rcat to a redirect in the following manner:
<syntaxhighlight lang="wikitext">
- REDIRECT (target article title)
This page is a redirect. The following categories are used to track and monitor this redirect:
|
</syntaxhighlight>
- Template {{Redirect category shell}} may be used to add as many appropriate rcats as needed, usually from one to seven, along with their parameters, to a redirect. For more information see the documentation on its template page. This rcat may also tag a redirect individually:
<syntaxhighlight lang="wikitext">
- REDIRECT (target article title)
- From a CVE identifier: This is a redirect from a Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures (CVE) identifier to a software bug, exploit, or other information security vulnerability.
- From an unprintworthy page title: This is a redirect from a title that would not be helpful in a printed or CD/DVD version of Wikipedia. See Wikipedia:Printability and Version 1.0 Editorial Team for more information.
</syntaxhighlight>
- This is in accord with instructions found at Wikipedia:REDCAT.
- Use this rcat to tag any redirect in mainspace from a Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures (CVE) identifier to a software bug, exploit, or other information security vulnerability.
Printability
|printworthy=yes
– By default, this template tags and categorizes redirects as unprintworthy. Use the printworthy parameter to subdue this behavior and populate Category:Printworthy redirects in the following manner:
<syntaxhighlight lang="wikitext">

|
</syntaxhighlight>
- or
<syntaxhighlight lang="wikitext">
- From a CVE identifier: This is a redirect from a Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures (CVE) identifier to a software bug, exploit, or other information security vulnerability.
- From a printworthy page title: This is a redirect from a title that would be helpful in a printed or CD/DVD version of Wikipedia. See Wikipedia:Printability and Version 1.0 Editorial Team for more information.
</syntaxhighlight>
