Usage

When you create or find a new page within the scope of WikiProject Pakistan please add any of the following to the top of its talk page: <syntaxhighlight lang="wikitext"></syntaxhighlight><syntaxhighlight lang="wikitext"></syntaxhighlight><syntaxhighlight lang="wikitext"></syntaxhighlight> Unused parameters may be omitted. This template automatically adds articles to Category:WikiProject Pakistan articles.

Optional parameters

• attention – set |attention=yes if the article needs immediate attention from experienced editors. Use only if another parameter does not cover the need for attention; this should be used sparingly. It is strongly encouraged to also add a section to the talk page explaining what needs attention.
  • This parameter populates Category:Pakistan articles needing attention.
• Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa – set |Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa=yes if the article is supported by WikiProject Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
  • This parameter populates Category:WikiProject Khyber Pakhtunkhwa articles.
• Balochistan – set |Balochistan=yes if the article is supported by WikiProject Balochistan, Pakistan.
  • This parameter populates Category:WikiProject Balochistan, Pakistan articles.
• Cities – set |Cities=yes if the article is supported by WikiProject Pakistani cities.
  • This parameter populates Category:WikiProject Pakistani cities articles.
• class – valid values are fa, a, ga, b, c, start, stub, fl, list, category, disambig, draft, file, portal, project, template, na (case-insensitive). See the project's quality scale for details. Setting an explicit value of NA is rarely necessary; for this, either leave |class= blank or omit the parameter.
• Districts – set |Districts=yes if the article is supported by WikiProject Pakistani districts.
  • This parameter populates Category:WikiProject Pakistani districts.
• History – set |History=yes if the article is supported by WikiProject Pakistani history.
  • This parameter populates Category:WikiProject Pakistani history articles.
• importance – valid values are: top, high, mid, low, na (case-insensitive). See the project's importance scale for details. Setting an explicit value of NA is rarely necessary; for this, either leave |importance= blank or omit the parameter.
• Karachi – set |Karachi=yes if the article is supported by WikiProject Karachi.
  • This parameter populates Category:WikiProject Karachi articles.
  • Karachi-importance (only used if |Karachi=yes is set; uses the same values as |importance=) – Importance rating within WikiProject Karachi
    • This importance rating populates the relevant subcategory of Category:Karachi articles by importance.
• listas – This parameter, which is the equivalent of the DEFAULTSORT sortkey that should be placed on all biographical articles, is a sortkey for the article talk page (e.g. for Abdul Hafeez Kardar, use |listas=Kardar, Abdul Hafeez so that the talk page will show up in the K's and not the A's of the various assessment and administrative categories). This is important because it is one source used by those who set DEFAULTSORT on the article; consider also setting the DEFAULTSORT for the article when setting this parameter.   If the article is using {{WikiProject banner shell}} then it is preferable to add |listas= to that template instead of a project banner template. Putting the parameter on more than one template is not required.
• needs-geocoord – set |needs-geocoord=yes if the page lacks Geocoordinate data.
  • This parameter populates Category:Pakistan articles missing geocoordinate data.
• needs-map – set |needs-map=yes to request that an a map be included in the page to improve its quality.
  • This parameter populates Category:Wikipedia requested maps in Pakistan.
• needs-photo – set |needs-photo=yes to request that an image or images be included in the page to improve its quality.
  • This parameter populates Category:Wikipedia requested photographs in Pakistan.
  • imagedetails (appears only if |needs-photo=yes is set) – Additional details to describe the image that is requested.
• Politics – set |Politics=yes if the article is supported by WikiProject Pakistani politics.
  • This parameter populates Category:WikiProject Pakistani politics articles.
• Sindh – set |Sindh=yes if the article is supported by WikiProject Sindh.
  • This parameter populates Category:WikiProject Sindh articles.
• unref – set |unref=yes if the page lacks sufficient references and/or adequate inline citations.
  • This parameter populates Category:Articles lacking sources.
• auto – This parameter is for the use of bots and indicates that the article has been automatically rated:
  • |auto=length – based on the length of the article
  • |auto=inherit – because one or more other projects use this class
  • |auto=yes (or |auto=stub), in conjunction with |class=stub – as Stub-Class because it uses a stub template
    • Use of the above values (or value combinations) with this parameter populates Category:Automatically assessed Pakistan articles.
• category – set |category=no if, and only if, a banner is being used for demonstration or testing purposes, to prevent unnecessary or undesirable categorization. Otherwise, omit this parameter.

Aliases

• The parameters |geocoord-needed=, |geocoord-requested= and |geocoord= are recognised as aliases for |needs-geocoord=. If more than one is present, the order of precedence, from highest to lowest, is: |needs-geocoord= → |geocoord-needed= → |geocoord-requested= → |geocoord= . Parameters with lower precedence are ignored.

• The parameters |map-needed=, |map-requested= and |map= are recognised as aliases for |needs-map=. If more than one is present, the order of precedence, from highest to lowest, is: |needs-map= → |map-needed= → |map-requested= → |map= . Parameters with lower precedence are ignored.

• The parameters |needs-image=, |image-needed=, |photo-needed= and |image-requested= are recognised as aliases for |needs-photo=. If more than one is present, the order of precedence, from highest to lowest, is: |needs-photo= → |needs-image= → |image-needed= → |photo-needed= → |image-requested= . Parameters with lower precedence are ignored.

• The parameter |Khyber Pakhtunkhwa= is recognised as an alias for |Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa=. If both |Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa= and |Khyber Pakhtunkhwa= are present, |Khyber Pakhtunkhwa= is ignored.
