__EXPECTUNUSEDTEMPLATE__
This template can be used to generate an {{edit protected}} to get a protected page tagged with an XfD notice. This template should be substituted on the talk page in a new section.
Example: <syntaxhighlight lang="wikitext"> {{subst:Xfd edit protected|1=Main Page|discussion=Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Main Page|tag={{subst:afd|Main Page (2nd nomination)}}}} </syntaxhighlight>
You can also in short use just: <syntaxhighlight lang="wikitext"> {{subst:Xfd edit protected|tag={{subst:afd|Main Page (2nd nomination)}}}} </syntaxhighlight> The page name will be automatically assumed to be the subject page of the talk page.
Parameters:
|tag=– the full wikitext of the tag to be placed on the page. This is the only compulsory parameter. This must be enclosed within <nowiki></nowiki> tags, otherwise the template in the tag would render right on the talk page itself.|1=– (first unnamed parameter) Name of the page. This defaults to the subject page of the talk page.|discussion=– Name of the discussion page. Optional.|rfd=yes– Include this for RfD nominations in order to indicate the closing}}required at the bottom of the page.|type=– The type of edit requested (e.g.partially-blocked). Defaults toprotected.|reason=– The reason for the edit. Defaults toit was protected.
This template automatically adds a signature.
